All our bench tested engines have the following criteria and standards:
1. New cam belt.
2. New oil & filters are fitted.
3. New spark plugs.
4. New fan belt.
5. Spitronics management system wired.
6. All un neccessary pulleys etc. are stripped off.
7. Serviced Auto gearbox (no oil inside)

We bench test our Lexus V8 engines before we fit them to vehicles.
When purchasing an engine we strive to get one with the least damaged covers & kilometres if possible.
After it arrives at the workshop it gets stripped of all wiring harnesses, covers, old oil, plugs and unwanted useless stuff.
When the wiring, plugs, oil and filters are fitted and the necessary parts assembled, we fit the engine to a test bench as seen in the picture where it is started up with a cooling and exhaust system connected.
The engine is then being run for +- 1 Hour and on the bench where we can adjust the ECU unit, check for overheating, blown gaskets, faulty injectors, oil pressure, charging rate of alternator, etc.
After the test, if we or the customer are satisfied with the results, we unplug the ECU put it in safe keeping until fitment and secure all the wiring.
Then we remove the engine from the testing bench and give it a final cleanup, after that it is finally ready to be fitted to the vehicle or for the customer to collect if he wants to fit the engine himself. No cosmetics done on the engines unless the client priorly arranges that he wants it to be done, it will be quoted extra.
